I had known Mayette since 1985 through the organization called Campus Ministry, I was then a student at then became a Campus Minister at the same school that I was active member of the Campus Ministry which the University of San Carlos,Cebu City, Phils., ever since I know Mayette I felt that she is a woman with really really big heart specially to those needy not only in terms of financial matter but specially with the psycho spiritual, emotional, even political aspect, in otherwords, she is a well wounded person, she is the kind of person that you can easily approach without hesitation, a very real person, friendly and even to the point that I can say that she is "a living saint", thats how I know her, well, God has great plan for her at Gods kingdom and I know & believe that she is watching her family and friends from up there. My dear Mayette, it has been a great pleasure knowing you, I know you will be missed by many many people not just your family and friends, but those whom you got in contact with, may our Almighty God will continue to take good care of you up there and your family and friends here. MAYET...one of my dearest friend since I became a member of Confraternity of our Lady of Lourdes-Sto.Rosario Parish, Cebu City. I think that was year 1978. We shared memorable togetherness that I will treasure forever.Even she migrated to USA...yes a big "thank you" to FB coz we never stop connecting each other. She was a friend who reached out on you..mangumusta bah,mag update sa COL , mag-chika2 (worth sharing pud oi)Kay, that is what she is-- "bubbly" and her concern for everyone here. And thats what I'll be missing on Mayet. a week before she left us, we were able to talked on the messenger, she told me she was okey but, I know deep in my heart she's in pain.I could not utter a single word to console her coz I know she does not want us to worry. I only cried in silence...She was such a strong woman, full of faith.Yett,I know you are now in a wonderful place where GOD is welcoming and embracing you...may GOD grant you eternal rest.RIP my dear friend Mayet...you are forever treasured in my heartš???

I have known Mayette since I've joined the Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes (COL) at Sto. Rosario Church in Cebu City, when I was still in high school. Mayette was a loving, caring and a very lively member of the COL. She always makes me laugh and she became a very close friend to our family. I have not seen Mayette since I moved to NZ for nearly 30 years, but we always keep in touch thru social media and had great chats, messages and photo calls. She always posts all our birthdays on FB, not a single member is missed. Although we were miles apart, I always treasured Mayette as a friend, a sister and very faithful servant of God. No other words can describe the pain I felt when I've learned her passing away. Her memories will always remain in my heart forever. May God grant eternal rest to Mayette. I love you always. We are grateful and bless to have known Mayet, Cyril, kids and their Family since they came to this country in 2001. We had a great memories with Mayet and Family and the whole group of friends from Brooklyn everytime we get together that means almost every night and for sure on weekends too, when most of us live minutes away. We will never forget her jokes and laughter, hospitality, social presence and we also never forget her famous utan bisaya, adobong baboy, giniling na torta and empanada, they're all super delicious!! And when you need someone to talk to, she is always there to listen even if it seem chatting forever with my wife on the phone and she always gave fair advise. It makes my wife high blood pressure go down a little bit, lol. She was a wonderful friend, willing to help other people despite of her busy life. We are all touched by her caring, loving, and deep faith to God. She will always be in our heart, an inspiration to all of us as she never gave up to fight for her health and for her Family. Mayet always live in happiness and gratefulness. Rest in peace Mayet. You will never be forgotten. Julius, Ruby and Family

Mayet was truly an epitome of great character, compassion, generosity, and grit. She's the type of a person who would always make a new acquaintance feel at home , comfortable, and even part of the family! She would always avail herself when invited and unselfish enough to grace the occasion with her home -cooked dishes and pastries. Even at the time when she was already frail and weak , she made "empanadas' to my husband's delight. We were really touched, it was a labor of love. When we visited her at the hospital, the first thing she uttered was "how's your mom?" she's very concerned of other people's condition than herself which was already deteriorating at that time. Indeed ,she's selfless , compassionate, and forbearing. This message will not be enough to recount everything that Mayet did in our lives- we were just sharing snippets of them! We will never forget you Mayet. Our hearts bleed deeply that you're now gone. It's difficult to entertain our thoughts that you just went somewhere , far away because we would long and miss your lengthy chats, calls, and visits. Lolong, Carlo, and Camille are immensely blessed for having you in their lives. Mayet, our sincerest gratitude for all the time , effort, and love you've generously showered us. You were always there for us in times of personal distress and family turmoil. You will never be forgotten Mayet! Myself and Arthur loss a big sister and counselor in you! We love you! Rest in peace Mayet and watch over us in heavens!

It is such an unfortunate loss for all of us friends and families. I will remember you Mayet as an exceptional friend, always helping and supporting esp to me and my kids in our times of adversities. And I know now you become an Angel who will protect us from Heaven. I miss you May.

She would have turned a year older on August 17. But our loving God had a different plan for her. She heaved her last breath on August 14. Three days later, she would breathe new life in heaven as she celebrates her birthday with the angels and saints who have cloaked her with love all throughout her journey. Mayet was more than a sister-in-law to us and a daughter-in-law to Papa and Mama. She loved us so dearly. We will always remember her generosity, her willingness to provide our needs and some of our earthly desires even when she was already suffering inside. Mayet was a selfless person and was quick to put otherā??s needs above hers, unmindful of her own. I am not surprised that she is loved and cherished by so many, not just by her family, but by her friends as well. My dearly loved sister-in-law Mayet loved life that even while looking at death in the eye, she still dealt with the remaining days of her life with absolute grace and composure. Now that she is gone, we will forever live with a shade of darkness over us. There will be a grey filter over our world forever. Her life was cut far too short, but during her time on earth, she touched so many peopleā??s lives. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever. May, we love you.

Happy Birthday Mayet in Heaven. Though it is sad as we will not be able to see you here on earth, we are happy as we know you will no longer feel the pain and has now joined Lord God our creator whom you have dedicated a good part of your life here on earth serving Him through people whom you have loved and served . Thank you so much for being a good friend and giving yourself to the service of Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes , as President.
