Serving Families From the early 1900's

Services Offered

Your family will choose the funeral that will best suit your needs and resources. Sweeney Funeral Home offers traditional burial, cremation and will schedule church memorials.

There is an on site chapel for visitation. Each family decides on how best to honor the wishes of the deceased and how to grieve.

We accept NJ Medicaid and offer CHOICES, a prepaid trust fund for families needing long term care.

Traditional Funeral Services

Traditionally, depending on the cultural and religious protocol, the body of the deceased is at the service. Sometimes there is an open casket where embalming is done. Other times, a closed casket is on display.

Direct Cremation

For some, cremation serves as the best option. The cremation can take place before or after a funeral or memorial service. And the final disposition of the cremated remains can be inurnment in a columbarium, burial, scattering at sea or land or kept at home in an urn.

Chapel Services

Chapel services are a standard part of most funeral rituals. A traditional chapel hall has room to display the casket in the front of the room and seating for all the family and friends. Often the service in conducted by a member of the clergy or a funeral director.

Memorial Services

This type of service occurs when the deceased is not present. This can take place at the funeral home, religious institution or even at a more casual location, like at a friend or family's home and sometimes even in a park. When the deceased had more than one location where loved ones were left behind, a memorial ceremony can be held in a city or country that is not in close proximity to the actual funeral.

Pre-Arrangements

Pre-arrangement is the planning of the details of a funeral before death occurs. While for some, the act of preparing for ones passing can be difficult, it is comforting to know that your wishes and the burden and expense of planning a funeral are taken care of. "CHOICES" or "SURE-TRUST" accounts may be opened through us with the N.J. State Funeral Directors Association Trust Fund. For further information or to request a brochure please call this funeral home.

Direct Burials

Direct burial is the procedure of burying the deceased without a preceding chapel service or visitation. This does not preclude having a service at a later time or a even at the burial site.
